Season1 is focused more on Sid.
It shows how this indecisive but kind hearted(possibly) boy Sid be more independent from his friend Tony
and find another love other than michelle ,Tony's girlfriend.

but basically this Show is about how all the kids (Chris ,Sid, Tony ,Cassey, Jalenda ,Michelle, Max )deal with the harsh reality and grow up
All in all, it is a story about growing up

And most of the kid's don't have families with strong bond
Especially, fathers are depicted as complete jerk
but as the time goes by ,kids figure out a way to communicate
and understand thier parents
and depic description of this progress
is indeed touching.

So,at fist peek, their life seems to be all about sex and drug
but it turn out that sex and drug is only an escapes from the miserable and helpless reality that they are facing.
and they are somewhat damaged or empty inside
so as I watch this drama, I could sympathise and understand the kids.
