I really wanted to go to Japan next semester, I was preparing the paperwork and everything...but I'll have to wait.
Speaking of dated expressions, I like "peachy keen." It sounds so nerdy. I can picture some snot nosed street kid in an old Hollywood film saying it sarcastically.
Well I was considering going to my school's sister school, Seinan Gakuin, in Fukuoka. But my advisor knew I wanted to study in Tokyo (Can't tell how she knew...I actually didn't care as long as I was in Japan). So she suggested KCP International Japanese Language School in Shinagawa Tokyo. KCP is cheaper, but I think the semester is shorter (3 months versus 5 months). The deal breaker for me is that I'll probably have to apply for a loan if I want to study abroad...but it may be worth it.
I'm going to SILTS, an interantional division in Waseda university! Your sister is in Japan? Fukuoka? I think staying in Fukuoka will allow you to save up lots of money..Price in tokyo is really high...
No, my sister isn't in Japan. The term "sister school" refers to a special connection between two schools. My school (URI) and Seinan have a special exchange program with eachother. Weird term I know.
Yeah, the main reason why I wanted to go to Fukuoka was because I heard it was cheaper and they had a beach near the school. Plus the city is used to foreign students.
Oh...there is similar term in Korean...they also call it "sister school"...I didn't read it properly..;;; Isn't Fukuoka on the northern side of Japan? I've heard that Fukuoka snows a lot in winter~!!I really want to visit there in winter... someday...!!
Fukuoka is in southern Japan. My Japanese teacher mentioned it is more tropical in the south and that they have palm trees there. I am not sure about the actual climate (or plant life) in Fukuoka though.
And I think it is Hokkaido may be the prefecture you are thinking of that is in the north and gets lots of snow in the winter.
